CPGRAMS

Hello. I am Arvind Nayak (Mumbai).
We had booked Kuwait Airways flight Mumbai-Milan-Mumbai from *MakeMyTrip* site in December 2019 for a Pharma conference. Our visit dates were from 11th October 2020 to 18th October 2020. But due to COVID, we had to cancel the tickets from the MakeMyTrip app in August 2020.
Kuwait Airways deducted a nominal amount and returned a large amount of our refund to MakeMyTrip in September 2020 itself. But, since then, we had to run from pillar to post between MakeMyTrip and Citibank since our Refund amount never got credited to the credit card account as promised. There was no response to numerous phone calls and mails sent to MakeMyTrip.

Then, on 09th July 2021, I discovered the CPGRAMS site. *CPGRAMS* means *Centralized Public Grievance Redress & Monitoring System*. From that I got Direct *PMO* - Prime Minister's Office site - https: //www.pmindia.gov.in/en/main/

From the site given above, in a few words, I wrote my Grievance to the PMO office, attached the relevant documents (there is such a facility on the site) and a miracle happened.
1. I immediately received a registration no. in my email with all details of my complaint.
2. I got the name, email ID and direct phone number of the officer to whom my complaint has been forwarded. It all happened in 1-2 days.
3. On 13th July I received an email from MakeMyTrip (on instructions of the Ministry of Tourism) asking for a few details.
4. Everyday, I could track the progress of my complaint myself by entering the registration number-complete Transparency!!

And then, another MIRACLE happened on *19th July 2021*. The refund amount was CREDITED to the bank account by NEFT from MakeMyTrip!!

Really COMMENDABLE!! No words to praise this fantastic initiative by the government- and it REALLY WORKS!!
It just shows the efforts of the government towards bringing full transparency in their working and their genuine concern for the citizens and their grievances!

KUDOS to all concerned!!
*Putting up this post so that it can help genuinely aggrieved citizens!!*

*CPGRAMS* stands for *Centralized Public Grievance Redress & Monitoring System*

Shakespearen Vodkans

It’s going to be togetherness of 32 years

When we all left home with tears

Someone from delhi Dharwad Roorkee Jalandhar
Naval academy made all of us brand new Bandar

Initial days of ragda was rough
Which made all of us tough
After pipe down no one used to cough

After POP all of us ventured in own fields
Studious ones got medals and shields

All of us went to ships as teens
Picked up quickly our beans

Life went off nicely with new trends
Someone with wife and others with girl friends

Few left after service of 7 years others are still fighting fit with spears

Few settled abroad for second career
All malooo joined AT for  harrier

Feel proud to be part of this vodkan family
Also enjoy conversation with shymouli

Everything revolves around Kaushik
His is longest , does anyone has any shak

Wishing all vodkans a very best of luck
Hope you are able to get fuck and suck

Russian academics

A student studying in Russia says:

The highest score for most of the exams in Russia is 5.
If a student does not answer any question and returns back his exam paper blank, with no question answered, he gets 2 out of 5.

In my first days at the University of Moscow, I did not know about this system and I was surprised and asked Dr. Theodor Medraev: "Is this fair that a student did not answer any question and you give him 2 out of 5? Why not give him a zero ?
Isn't that the right way ?"

He answered:
"How can we give a Human Being a zero ?
How can we give him a zero to someone who was getting up at 7 am to attend all the lectures ?
How can we give him a zero since he got up in this cold weather, and used public transport and reached to do the exam in time, and tried to solve the questions ?
How can we give him a zero for the nights he used to study and spent his money on pens and notebooks and bought a computer for studying ?
How can we give him a zero when he left all other life styles and pursued his studies ?
Here my son, we do not give a zero to a student just because he did not know the answer.
We at least try to respect the fact that this is a Human Being, and he is having a brain, and he tried.
Because this result which we give, is not just for the questions in the exam paper, it is also about showing appreciation and respect to the fact that this is a Human Being and deserves to have a score."

Truly I did not know how to respond.
There I knew my value as a Human Being.
Zeros can actually decrease motivation on students, and can quickly destroy them and make them stop caring about their studies altogether.
Once a zero score has been put in the grade book, they need no longer care about that subject and they may assume that, there’s nothing they can do about it.

An excellent message to all the academics, governments, parents and teachers so as to change the system of education which we have in our country.

How to get rid of sore throat : 6 home remedies

*How to get rid of a sore throat: 6 home remedies you should try*

 *1. Warm and cold fluids.*
*_The skinny:_* Sip on warm drinks, such as tea or chicken soup. Or try cold liquids, such as ice water or popsicles.
*Doctor’s advice:* Liquids help clear mucous membranes, keep things flowing and prevent sinus infections. Warm temperatures may also reduce coughs by soothing the back of the throat. Try both warm and cold to see what works best for you.

 *2. Gargling*
*The skinny:* Dissolve 1/2 teaspoon of salt — or a similar amount of baking soda — in a glass of warm water. Gargle (but don’t swallow) the concoction every three hours for an all-natural sore throat remedy.
*_Doctor’s advice:_* Salt water can help reduce swelling and irritation in your throat. Baking soda also soothes the throat, breaks up mucus and can help with throat-irritating acid reflux.

*3. Over-the-counter antihistamines and pain relievers*
*_The skinny:_* An antihistamine may dull or relieve the throat pain. Acetaminophen, ibuprofen and naproxen also help with pain that’s located a little deeper in the glands and other parts of the neck.
*_Doctor’s advice:_* Histamines are chemicals that help your immune system fight foreign substances. But sometimes they go overboard, triggering symptoms (such as congestion and post-nasal drip) that can make a sore throat feel worse. Antihistamines can counteract this overreaction.

 *4. Steam and humidity*
*The skinny:* Take a hot shower. When it gets really steamy, breathe in the magic.
*Doctor’s advice:* Steam loosens mucus and can moisturize and soothe a sore throat.

 *5. Hot toddy*
*The skinny:* A hot toddy is a drink combo made with water, whiskey, honey and lemon juice and served hot. Some people add spices, such as cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger.
*Doctor’s advice:* Hot toddies can be very soothing. Here’s why:
Honey coats your throat and soothes it by reducing irritation. Honey also has antibacterial properties, and the sweetness can calm the throat’s nerve endings and reduce coughing.

Whiskey (a small amount; too much can dehydrate you) breaks up and thins mucus. Whiskey also dilates the blood vessels on the surface of the throat, so immune cells in your blood can multiply and fight the infection.

Spices stimulate saliva production, improving both hydration and mucus flow in your throat.

 *6. Rest*
*_The skinny:_* Put your head on your pillow at a decent hour and close your eyes. Repeat as necessary.
*Doctor’s advice:* Don’t underestimate physically resting your body and voice.

*And avoid things that can irritate your throat, including:*

Dry air.

Smoking.

Acidic foods or spicy foods.

Lying down immediately after you eat, especially if you have acid reflux.

Time for exercise

*Does It Matter (to Your Heart or Otherwise) What Time of Day You Exercise?* Depending on your exercise goals, there may be specific benefits to working out at a particular time of day.

Exercising in the morning may be associated with lower blood pressure, better sleep and greater weight loss, due to improved fat burning and appetite suppression. Studies also suggest that people tend to be more consistent with morning exercise, due to fewer distractions that are likely to interrupt their routines later in the day.

On the other hand, afternoon or evening exercise is associated with peaks in body temperature and flexibility and appears to be better at improving aerobic performance and strength.

But for most of us who want to exercise for general health effects, the best time is the time that works best and allows you to perform it regularly.

The American Heart Association recommends a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate-intensity, or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic exercise, a week in divided sessions. Adding resistance training three times a week can further benefit you.

Many variables contribute to a successful exercise program, including time of day, location, type of activity and social setting. However, consistency is the most important variable and is most strongly linked to achieving positive results.

If you’re a morning person, then a morning workout is likely best. If you’re a night owl, exercising later in the day may be a perfect way to unwind and release stress. For most of us, it is probably best to avoid exercising just before bedtime, since it may interfere with your ability to go to sleep.

_In short, the best time to exercise is when you have the most energy and motivation to do it. Regardless of why you exercise, pick the time that works best for you and stick with it._
