Travel Tip : Coin in freezer

HERE’S WHY YOU SHOULD LEAVE A COIN IN THE FREEZER, EVERY TIME BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE. AMAZING!

Well, have you ever came from work or some long trip and noticed that your digital clocks showing the wrong time?

You might think: “Certainly there was no power outage!”. Even if it was, you simply cannot know how long there was no electricity, right?

There is possibility that it was for several days, leading to defrost food and its deterioration. Once the electricity comes back, foods freeze again and you almost do not notice that they were thawed.

It is fact that this can be really dangerous as certain types of foods are at risk of spreading salmonella and other bacteria!

Below we are going to present you a way to find out if and how long your freezer was without electricity!

Now you can find out if you can consume the food or it was too long being in warm.

For this you need:

• a cup
• a coin
• water

First pour water into a cup and place it in the freezer. When the water in the cup is frozen, put a coin on top of the frozen water in the cup and then return it to the freezer.

After returning home from holiday, before taking out the food from the freezer, look at where the coin is!

If the coin is still at the top or in the middle of the cup, there was no power failure or power outage was for a short time, so the water was only partly melted.

If the coin is at the bottom of a cup, it means that electricity failure was for a long time, so the water completely dissolved, and the coin sinks all the way to the bottom of the cup. At that point, it is advisable not to consume the foods from the freezer.

Brilliant trick which is supereasy to use. This is particularly useful when you go on longer trips!

Einstein Stories

One day during a speaking tour, Albert Einstein's driver, who often sat at the back of the hall during his lectures, remarked that he could probably give the lecture himself, having heard it so many times. Sure enough, at the next stop on the tour, Einstein and the driver switched places, with Einstein sitting at the back in his driver's uniform. Having delivered a flawless lecture, the driver was asked a difficult question by a member of the audience. "Well, the answer to that question is quite simple," he casually replied. "I bet my driver, sitting up at the back there, could answer it!"

Albert Einstein's wife often suggested that he dress more professionally when he headed off to work. "Why should I?" he would invariably argue. "Everyone knows me there." When the time came for Einstein to attend his first major conference, she begged him to dress up a bit. "Why should I?" said Einstein. "No one knows me there!"

Albert Einstein was often asked to explain the general theory of relativity. "Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour," he once declared. "Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity!"

When Albert Einstein was working in Princeton university, one day he was going back home he forgot his home address. The driver of the cab did not recognize him. Einstein asked the driver if he knows Einstein's home. The driver said "Who does not know Einstein's address? Everyone in Princeton knows.Do you want to meet him?. Einstein replied "I am Einstein. I forgot my home address, can you take me there? "The driver reached him to his home and did not even collect his fare from him.

Einstein was once traveling from Princeton on a train when the conductor came down the aisle, punching the tickets of every passenger. When he came to Einstein, Einstein reached in his vest pocket. He couldn't find his ticket, so he reached in his trouser pockets. It wasn't there, so he looked in his briefcase but couldn't find it. Then he looked in the seat beside him. He still couldn't find it.

The conductor said, 'Dr. Einstein, I know who you are. We all know who you are. I'm sure you bought a ticket. Don't worry about it.' Einstein nodded appreciatively. The conductor continued down the aisle punching tickets. As he was ready to move to the next car, he turned around and saw the great physicist down on his hands and knees looking under his seat for his ticket.

The conductor rushed back and said, 'Dr. Einstein, Dr. Einstein, don't worry, I know who you are. No problem. You don't need a ticket. I'm sure you bought one.' Einstein looked at him and said, 'Young man, I too, know who I am. What I don't know is where I'm going.'

Pranayam + Meditation

WHY Pranayam + MEDITATION are  necessary from the MEDICAL  point of view ?

From the time of the  birth till death the heart works continuously.

Everyday the heart pumps 7000 litres of blood, of which 70% blood is pumped to the brain and the remaining 30%  to the rest of body.

How does the heart work so much efficiently and effectively ?

Heart works effectively because it follows a discipline. In normal conditions the heart takes 0.3 secs to contract (systole) and 0.5 secs to relax (diastole). So 0.3+0.5=0.8 secs are required by the heart to complete one beat (1 cardiac cycle).That means in 1 min, the heart beats 72 times which is considered as normal heart beat.

During the relaxing phase of 0.5 secs the impure blood travels through the lungs and becomes 100 % pure.

In some stressful conditions , the body demands more blood in less time and in this situation the heart reduces the relaxing period of 0.5 secs to 0.4 secs.Thus in this case the heart beats 82 times in 1min and only 80% of blood gets purified.

On more and more demand the relaxing time is further reduced to 0.3 secs & then only 60% of blood is purified.

Imagine the consequences of the lesser Oxygenated blood circulating in our Arteries!

Deep Breathing , my friends , is the key to ensure better Oxygenation of the blood.

Factors responsible for the activity of the brain:

1.  25-30% is due to the Diet we consume.

2. 70-75% is due to the emotions, attitude, memories and other processes of the brain.

Thus, to calm the brain and reduce the demand on the heart to pump more and more blood , brain needs to be given a rest.

Meditation is the most useful tool to calm an agitated mind.

When we sit with eyes closed and concentrate on Brow Point ( Agya Chakra ), the brain gets calmer,  heart gets rested,  thus insulating us from the Dis-eases of Heart & Brain.

PRANAYAM + MEDITATION IS THE KEY TO THE REAL HEALING.

15 minutes per day is all it takes to practise these.

A TV anchor once asked Martina Navratilova, “How do you maintain your focus and manage to keep playing, even at the age of 43 ?”

Her suave response was, “The ball doesn’t know how old I am.  Besides, for 90% of the match I don’t have to focus”.

In a typical tennis match, the players spend less than 15% of their time hitting the ball. During a round of golf, golfers spend less than 20% of their round swinging a golf club, and in American football, the ball is actually in play for only 6% of the game.

In his excellent book, *Stillpower*, Sports Psychologist Garret Kramer says that a key factor to performing well in sports (and in life), is your ability to control the quality and quantity of your “internal dialogue”, understanding:

Performance = Potential - internal interference

In other words, you need to stop yourself from stopping yourself.

Sports, business, and indeed, life are played on a 6-inch course_… the space between our ears!

Life's Unfairness

Life's unfairness does not give you license to walk the wrong path of dharma!

Karna asked Krishna - "My mother left me the moment I was born. Is it my fault I was born an illegitimate child?

I did not get education from Dhronacharya because I was considered a non Kshatriya.

Parshu-Raam taught me but then gave me the curse to forget everything since I was a kshatriya.

A cow was accidentally hit by my arrow & its owner cursed me for no fault of mine.
I was disgraced in Draupadi's swayamvar.
Even Kunti finally told me the truth only to save her other sons.

Whatever I received was through Dhuryodhana's charity. So how am I wrong in taking his side?"

Krishna replies, "Karna, I was born in a jail.
Death was waiting for me even before my birth.

The night I was born I was separated from my birth parents.

From childhood you grew up hearing the noise of swords, chariots, horses, bow and arrows.

I got only cow herd's shed, dung, and multiple attempts on my life even before I could walk!

No army, no education. I could hear people saying I am the reason for all their problems.

When all of you were being appreciated for your valour by your teachers I had not even received any education. I joined gurukula of Rishi Sandipani only at the age of 16!

You are married to a girl of your choice. I didn't get the girl I loved & rather ended up marrying those who wanted me or the ones I rescued from demons.

I had to move my whole community from the banks of Yamuna to far off Sea shore to save them from Jarasandh. I was called a coward for running away.

If Dhuryodhana wins the war you will get lot of credit. What do I get if Dharmaraja wins the war? Only the blame for the war and all related problems.

Remember one thing Karna. Everybody has challenges in life. LIFE IS NOT FAIR ON ANYBODY.*Dhuryodhan also has a lot of unfairness in life and so has Yudhhishthir.

But what is Right (Dharma) is known to your mind (conscience).

No matter how much unfairness we got, how many times we were disgraced, how many times we were denied what was due to us, what is important is how you REACTED at that time.

Stop whining Karna. Life's unfairness does not give you license to walk the wrong path of dharma!
